Kaffee Klatsch II: Tuesdays at 1:30 p.m. at Jupiter House
kaffeeklatsch, n. from Kaffeeklatsch "coffee gossip": informal conversational gathering where coffee is served. Literally "coffee chat" (in German). This is the type of casual conversation, small talk and especially gossip enjoyed by housewives who meet in the afternoon for a cup of coffee.
Although the CTS Kaffee Klatsch has many similarities to the official definition, we have given this traditional gathering a new twist. Kaffee Klatsch I meets on Tuesday mornings, 9:00 a.m., at a local coffee shop, and Kaffee Klatsch II meets at 1:30 p.m. across town, also on Tuesdays (beginning April 7, 2009). Contrary to the definition, participants are not all of the fairer gender.
And what does a church-sponsored group gossip about? We gossip, discuss, pray and share about how we can grow spiritually in Jesus Christ. During the two years this group has been meeting, numerous texts and studies have been utilized to guide our discussions.
