Christ The Servant Lutheran Church hosts an annual Empty Bowls Soup Luncheon and Silent Auction in October, at Our Daily Bread soup kitchen, located at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. Handcrafted clay ware and wooden bowls donated by local and regional fine artists, student artists, and the Golden Triangle Woodturners, as well as bowls designed by church members throughout the year, are offered at the luncheon. All proceeds are donated to Our Daily Bread soup kitchen and the Denton Community Food Center.
Want to get involved? We have already begun to collect bowls and artwork for the 2010 luncheon. We would also love to make a presentation to your group, about the needs of the hungry in our community, and how you can help. And don’t forget to stop by the Empty Bowls of Denton information booth at this year’s Denton Arts and Jazz Festival!
