Christ The Servant Lutheran Church will host the 9th Annual Empty Bowls Soup Luncheon and Silent Auction from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on “Make A Difference Day,” Saturday, October 25, 2008, at the Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen, located at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. All proceeds are donated to the Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen and the Denton Community Food Room. 

The Empty Bowls Project of Denton is a community ministry of Christ The Servant Lutheran Church, where people of Christ The Servant Lutheran Church work in ecumenical-civic partnership with members of the Denton community to support Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen and the Denton Community Food Center, enabling them to feed nutritious meals to the hungry of Denton. 

Handcrafted clay ware and wooden bowls donated by local and regional fine artists, student artists, and the Golden Triangle Woodturners, in addition to bowls designed by church members throughout the year help support Our Daily Bread and the Denton Community Food Center through the silent auction and soup luncheon held October 25, 2008, where attendees get to enjoy lunch and take their bowl home as a reminder of those who are less fortunate.
